TFT Set 4.5: Darius best item build (BIS)

In Teamfight Tactics Set 4.5, Festival of Beasts, Darius is a 3-cost champion with the Fortune Origin and Slayer Class.

Is Darius a carry in Set 4.5?

As of patch 11.2, Darius is not considered a late-game carry in Slayer comps as there are better options available, including Zed or Olaf. But as a 3-cost champion, if you get him early, you can definitely itemize him and have an advantage in the early- to mid-game. He’s also an effective item holder if you manage to get the Item Remover in the Lucky Lantern.

The only time Darius will really be the main carry is in a 6-champion Fortune comp. But even then, Katarina and Tryndamere will also be dealing damage.

Darius - Fortune's GUillotineFortune’s Guillotine (Ability)

Darius dunks an enemy, dealing magic damage. While dunking, Darius is unstoppable. If this kills the target, Darius immediately casts again dealing 20% reduced damage.

  • Skill: Active
  • Damage: 500 / 750/ 1250

Item Build

If you choose to run carry Darius, you’ll want to prioritize the following items:

Hextech Gunblade (Needlessly Large Rod + BF Sword)

The holder’s spells heal them for 33% of the damage dealt. Excess healing fuels a shield that protects the holder against up to 300 damage.

With each dunk with Hextech Gunblade, Darius will regenerate 33 percent of his health from the damage dealt. With the right items, Darius can regen his health to full and keep slamming.

Jeweled Gauntlet (Needlessly Large Rod + Sparring Gloves)

The holder’s spells can cause critical hits, and holder gains +40% Critical Strike Damage.

Jeweled Gauntlet will provide Darius with some insane critical strike damage on his ability that will, in turn, add to his health regen from the Hextech Gunblade.

In my opinion, Hextech Gunblade and Jeweled Guantlet are the two most important items for Darius. For the third item, I’ve seen two main options:

Ionic Spark (Negatron Cloak + Needlessly Large Rod)

Enemies within 2 hexes have their Magic Resist reduced by 40% (does not stack). When they cast a spell, they are zapped taking magic damage equal to 225% of their max Mana.

As Darius is not usually the primary carry in most comps, Ionic Spark makes the most sense. The reduced Magic Resist not only increases his damage, but benefits the rest of your team as well.

Infinity Edge (BF Sword + Sparring Gloves)

[Unique] Grants 75% Critical Strike Chance (including components). Each point of Critical Strike Chance above 100% become +1% Critical Strike Damage.

The only comp where I’ve seen Darius use an Infinity Edge is 6 Fortune and that’s because as the primary carry, he needs to deal a ton of damage. Combined with Jeweled Gauntlet, you’ll have increased Crit Chance and Crit Damage.

Other recommended items for Darius include:

  • Hand of Justice: Sparring Gloves + Tear of the Goddess
  • Rabadon’s Deathcap: Needlessly Large Rod + Needlessly Large Rod
  • Locket of the Iron Solari: Needlessly Large Rod + Chain Vest
