TFT patch 11.4: Best team comps and strongest champions

Teamfight Tactics patch 11.4 dropped last week and with a weekend of full play, we finally have a decent grasp on the current meta. There were some big changes introduced in the most recent patch, nerfing 1-star carries and adjusting many of the traits. The meta was definitely shaken up a bit, but some of the previous comps remain strong.

Here are the best team comps and champions for TFT patch 11.4. Remember, Teamfight Tactics is a game that requires flexibility and adaptability. Various factors such as whether the comp is contested, the items you get or the chosen you get could impact how the game unfolds. So take this list with a grain of salt. If everything goes your way, these are some of the strongest comps you could play in TFT patch 11.4.

Aurelion Sol

Aurelion Sol is one of the strongest carries in TFT patch 11.4, and there are three main comps you can use him as your main carry in. His BIS items are the same regardless of what comp you run with him. The two main items you’ll want are Hextech Gunblade and Jeweled Gauntlet, while the third is a little more flexbile.

  • Hextech Gunblade
  • Jeweled Gauntlet
  • Guardian Angel/Guinsoo’s Rageblade/Infinity Edge

In some builds for Elderwood, I’ve seen his third item as an Elderwood Sprout (Spatula + Netagron Cloak).

Dragonsoul Mages (6 Dragonsoul, 2 Syphoner, 3 Mages, 2 Vanguard)

You can build Dragonsoul Mages if you find a Chosen Dragonsoul and have decent items for Aurelion Sol.

The comp looks like this:

  • Brand
  • Lulu
  • Braum
  • Shyvana (Runaan’s Hurricane, Quicksilver Sash, Hand of Justice)
  • Morgana
  • Aatrox
  • Aurelion Sol (Jeweled Gauntlet, Hextech Gunblade, Guardian Angel)
  • Swain

Mages (7 Mages, 3 Dragonsoul, 3 Elderwood, 2 Vanguard)

If you get a decent Chosen Mage and good items for Aurelion Sol, this is another viable comp.

  • Twisted Fate
  • Brand
  • Annie (Sunfire Cape, Dragon’s Claw, Titan’s Resolve)
  • Braum
  • Lulu (Chalice of Power)
  • Veigar
  • Aurelion Sol (Jeweled Gauntlet, Hextech Gunblade, Guardian Angel)
  • Ornn

Elderwood Mages (6 Elderwood, 3 Mage, 2 Keeper, 2 Vanguard, 1 Blacksmith)

Elderwood Mage was actually a strong comp to begin Set 4.5 and while it’s fallen off slightly, it’s still strong because of the fact that Aurelion Sol is still a capable carry. Check out our Elderwood Mage build using Aurelion Sol below!

Cultist

9 Cultist

Cultist received a small buff this patch and it now makes for a very solid comp in this patch. It’s a very straightforward comp, simply requiring 9 Cultist synergy. This is done by finding a Cultist chosen, no special Spatula or anything required. The hardest part about this comp is finding a Zilean to hit 9. In this comp, Kalista is your carry with Sivir and Aatrox holding some items as well.

  • Elise
  • Twisted Fate
  • Pyke
  • Vladimir
  • Sivir
  • Kalista
  • Aatrox
  • Zilean

Brawlers

8 Brawler, 3 Elderwood, The Boss, Blacksmith

Brawlers got nerfed but they are still a very strong option that’ll almost always result in top four. It’s another straightforward comp like Cultist that doesn’t require much more than finding a Chosen Brawler. Shyvana remains your main carry with Nunu also holding some items.

  • Tahm Kench
  • Maoki
  • Vi
  • Nunu (Hextech Gunblade, Sunfire Cape)
  • Shyvana (Runaan’s Hurricane, Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Hand of Justice)
  • Cho’Gath
  • Ornn
  • Sett (Jeweled Gauntlet, Hextech Gunblade, Hand of Justice)

Kayle Carry

Kayle is still a very strong champion and serves as the primary carry in multiple team comps.
