Most seem to agree Brawlers are one of the best performing comps in Teamfight Tactics Set 4.5 and one of the easiest to Top 4 thanks, in large part, to the AD buff.
We’re still a few weeks away from the release of Festival of Beasts, but Set 4.5 is live on the PBE and early indications are Brawlers are one of the most overpowered traits so far.
TFT lead designer Stephen ‘Mortdog’ Mortimer even acknowledged this during one of his recent streams, admitting: “Brawlers are the easiest comp in the game to Top 4 with.” He added that they are “ridiculously strong” in the early game, especially.
While there are, obviously, exceptions to this statement, most seem to agree with this. Multiple ranking lists for patch 11.2 (Set 4.5) have Brawlers at the top.
Although Brawlers have been fairly consistent in Set 4, they received a buff in patch 11.2 that now provides bonus AD in addition to the maximum health they gain. On the PBE, Brawlers gain an additional 20/50/100/200 bonus AD on top of the 400/800/1200/1800 maximum health.
This is all in addition to the arrival of Shyvanna, who many also agree is really, really strong right now. Basically, put a Runaan’s Hurricane or two on her along with the rest of the other Brawlers and you’ll decimate your opponents. Other items recommended for Shyvanna include Guinsoo’s Rageblade, Rapid Firecannon, and Quicksilver Sash. But all you really need to hold your own is Runaan’s.
Now it’s worth mentioning that patch 11.2 is being tested on the PBE and things could change before it finally reaches the live servers. The patch, along with Teamfight Tactics Set 4.5, is slated to go live on January 21.
